

Mildred E. “Millie” Cantrell, 85, of Longview, TX passed away on October 23, 2012 at her residence in Longview. She was born on September 6, 1927 in Plainview, Texas to William Thomas and Vesta Leckliter Anders. She married Thomas Cantrell on November 29, 1945 in Star City, Arkansas and the two of them quickly moved on to California to start their new life. Together they raised four children, and Millie helped her husband with his business during a difficult economy. As a child, she had been taught the value of hard work and getting by with very little, and she brought these skills with her in her role as a young wife and mother. She was also had a very artful side and was gifted in almost any medium- from oil, water and china painting to needlework, cross stich and crochet. She was really the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman.
Mrs. Cantrell leaves behind her husband of 66 years,Thomas Cantrell of Longview; sons-David Cantrell and wife Eloise of Northridge, CA; Kenneth Cantrell of Arlington, TX; daughter, Donna Lynton and husband Steve of Kennedy Meadows, CA; daughter-in-law: Susan Cantrell of Longview; eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren; brother,James Lloyd Anders of Pine Bluff, Ark.; sister, Geneva Shoemake of Star City, Ark.; she was preceded in death by her parents, a son-Steven L. Cantrell; brother, William Tony Anders; sister-Doris Mason. Vote for Mitt Romney—This Message approved by Mrs. Millie.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview, TX . Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the funeral home.
