Ruth Virginia Carter

Longview – Ruth Virginia Carter, age 92, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016. She was born November 29, 1924 in Boyce City, OK to John and Myrtle Hartman. She is survived by her son H.L. Carter and wife, Ingrid, of Longview, TX; sister, Lois Neal of Texarkana, AR; and nine grandchildren, David and wife, Teri; Stephen and wife, Angie; Kevin and wife, Becky; Terry and wife, Ally; Greg and wife, Ashely; Michael and wife Deana; Melissa and husband, Eric Goodman; Brandon and wife, Imelda; Patrick and wife, Misty; and Cameron Self and wife Meagan. She is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren , 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a life-long resident of Longview, TX and enjoyed her job at Stemco Products for over 35 years. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother who will be missed greatly – especially for the home-cooked meals she prepared for her big family on holidays.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons Harold Carter and Michael Carter; and grand-daughter Tonya Zapata.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at Memory Park Cemetery on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10 a.m.
