Sandra E. Wheeler Owens

Sandra E. Wheeler Owens, 67, passed away November 4, 2014 surrounded by friends and family following a courageous battle with cancer. Sandra was born January 6, 1947 in Longview to Samuel and Grace Wheeler of White Oak, where she attended school. She enjoyed quilting, working with her plants and gardening, traveling and playing cards. She worked in many capacities during her life, the last being at Kwik Kopy on South Street downtown. She loved the people that she worked with and the people that she met and helped.

She is survived by her daughter: Teresa Gilliland and her husband Jeff of Hallsville; grandchildren: Forrest Owens and his wife Miranda of Jacksonville, FL, and Lindsey Owens of Browns Mills, NJ; great grandchildren: Keelie, Roxis, and Madilyn; sisters: Shirley Ciancio and her husband Chuck of Cutten, CA, Nell Dalby of San Antonio, and Beverly Brabham and her husband David of Longview; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband: Earl Davis; and a nephew: Robert Brabham.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Pastor Kendall Land officiating. In Lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to Texas Oncology, 1300 North 4th Street, Longview, TX 75601.
