

Sherry Reenae (Malone) Rodgers of Longview passed away May 30, 2021, at her home at the age of 64. She was born December 21, 1956, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana to parents Jewel Edwin Malone and Mary Oletta (Hilburn) Malone.
Sherry worked most recently in Hughes Springs at a local insurance underwriter. Before moving to East Texas in 1996, Sherry had filled many highly skilled positions for various large and/or highly reputable companies. Many of those were world-renowned corporations such as Aamco in Clear Lake, Texas where she was an international purchasing agent. She also worked in Operations Office Management for a prominent and multiple award-winning builder of high-end homes in Orlando, Florida. She was a co-founder and developer of a company initiating various environmental agencies to seek new legislation and future regulation compliance rules to govern operation procedures for the first ever soil decontamination unit.
Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Alexandra Dawn and Jessica Dawn; brothers, Charles Edwin Malone and Ricky David Malone; and sister, Janelle Malone May.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, William H. Rodgers, III of Longview; daughters, Mandy Ann Davidson and husband David of Gilmer and Sarah Marie Rodgers of White Oak; son, William (Willie) H. Rodgers IV of White Oak; granddaughters, Taylor Ashby of White Oak and Madison Jewel of Lecompte, Louisiana; grandsons, Joseph Shawn Rodgers and Matthew Jacob Rodgers, both of Hughes Springs; great-granddaughter/adopted daughter, Alexandra Dawn Rodgers; brother, Tommy Malone; and sisters, Irene Giles and husband Mike and Mary Jewel Brown and husband Nelson.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church in Plain Dealing, Louisiana officiated by Pastor Wayne Reines. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lyle Domangue, David Davidson, Benny Littlepage, John David “Bubba” Malone, Robert Larger, and Joey Rodgers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview, Texas.
