

Shirley Mae Ross, 79, of Longview, Texas passed away on June 22, 2014 at a local hospital. She was born on February 28, 1935 in Timpson to Robert Louis and Mary Ann Hammers. She was affectionately known as Mexican Mollie to her siblings. Mrs. Ross loved the holidays. She loved decorating her yard for Christmas and Halloween, and was known in her neighborhood by all of the children to dress up in her witch costume and stir her smoking potions on all hallows eve. Christmas was not forgotten either, as she would go all out decorating her yard with life size Santa and reindeer displays. She had a love for her doll collection, being outside and gardening.
She is survived by her brothers: Earl Hammers of Longview and Jerry Hammers of Gary, TX; sons: Johnny Ross Jimmy Ross and his wife Theresa all of Longview; daughter: Cathy DeCostanza and her husband Victor of Hallsville, and daughter: Cindy Pyers of Elderville; grandchildren: Justin Ross, Kristi Ross, William DeCostanza, Jennifer DeCostanza Green, Brittany Pyers Bynum, Micha Pyers, Laura Pyers Rogers, Joseph Pyers, Jeff Stovall, Dusty Stovall; and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Mary Ann Hammers; four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Robert Johnson officiating.
