

Timothy was born on January 14, 1947. He attended Quitman High School where after he joined the ARMY. Timothy later took classes and received training at Kilgore College and the Academy to become a firefighter. Timothy became a fireman and fire inspector for the Kilgore Fire Department where he served many years. Due to Tim’s injuries he obtained while serving as a firefighter, the fire department was forced to look and cover their fireman with some type of insurance. Although Tim sustained injuries along the way, something good arose from it. Timothy had many hobbies and interest throughout his life. Tim loved to collect Hot Wheels and had a respectable coin collection. Tim was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed working with wood and knives.
Timothy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gail Clanton, son Cory and Tara Clanton, daughter Gina and Mark Langford, grandchildren Amber and husband Zack Garner, Shelbie Clanton, Marilynn Clanton, West Clanton, Kymberly Crawford and Katie Darby. Tim is survived by many other extended family members and friends. He was the fireman’s fireman.
Timothy is preceded in death by both his parents, brothers Tony, Larry, and Garry Clanton and two uncles.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of East Texas and their daughter and future son -in-law who moved in and helped take care of Tim during this difficult time. The family would like to thank the Kilgore Fire Department for serving as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local fire department or hospice in Tim’s name.
