He graduated from North Shores Senior High. He lived in Cloverleaf for 21 years and was a regular on ladies night at Mickey Gilleys in Pasadena. The ladies would all stand in line and wait their turn to two-step with little Willie. His picture hung on the wall, until the club burned down in 1990.
He worked in White Oak about 12 years building and repairing alternators and generators. His career included working for the Texas Department of Highways as a flagman for about 5 years. He was very recognizable to the regular motorist who would blow their horns and wave to him.
He loved to fish and camp at Lake Houston, and later years at Lake O'the Pines. The Cowboys were his team and he'd curl up in his Cowboy blanket to cheer them on.
Willie Never let his size stand in the way, with an awesome zest for life and a big heart, he met every challenge head on. He was strong in his faith and was baptized as a young man, accepting god into his life.
There is no love like that for a brother, but then there is no love like that from a brother. Willie is leaving behind his loving sister Vickie and husband Mart Ehl, two nephews, Rolland Edward Wynn and Clinton Cricket Evans, and several nieces and nephews, along with many friends. The household pets, Harley and sir pup will surely miss him.
He is pain free now. May he glide on angles wings to a heavenly home.
Gone but never forgotten.
