Willie was preceded in death by her father, Charles Cedric Shelton and her mother, Mildred Elizabeth Shelton, and by her husband of 36 years, Paul Wendell Pruett.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwen Poteet of Hallsville, son Jeff Pruett and wife Daisy of Moulton, Alabama, daughter, Shannon Pruett of Longview, and daughter, Debra Dickerson of Tyler; grandchildren, Shayla Hall, Hanna Poteet, David Pruett, Dani Poteet, Narsie Pruett and Cooper Dickerson, and one great-grandchild, Harper Lockwood. Willie is also survived by three siblings and their spouses, Charliene and Ross Williams, Buddy and Patricia Shelton, and Charles and Barbara Shelton.
The Shelton family joined Calvary Tabernacle in the mid 1950s and remain faithful to this day through a 3rd generation.
Growing up in the church, Willie became an accomplished singer, organ and accordion player for a female quartet consisting of her, her sister, Charliene and the Bell sisters.
She had a wonderful personality and keen sense of humor, accompanied by the fact she was very observant — she didn’t miss anything which culminated into her being a very astute domino player.
She was dearly loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
