August 11, 1950 – March 12, 2014
A dynamo of courage, beauty and graciousness, Dr. Leonore Limos-Dorlandt, of Los Feliz, has passed away. The cause was appendix cancer. She was born in Davao, Philippines, where she was "Miss Davao." She graduated from the University of the East’s medical school in Quezon City, Philippines, completed a fellowship at Kyushu University Neurological Institute, in Japan, and did her residency at the VA Wadsworth Medical Center, in Los Angeles. She published papers in the Journal of Neurological sciences, the Journal of Neurochemistry, and others.
If there was a prize for the neurologist with the biggest heart, Dr. Limos would have garnered it. She took time to both examine and empathize with her patients, and they often gifted her with food or jewelry.
She is survived by Stephan Dorlandt, her husband of 22 wonderful years, by her daughter, Dasha Marie Dorlandt, for whom she was a devoted mother and fun-loving friend, by sisters Teresita Santamarina, Priscilla Tegtmeyer, and Thelma Pangilinan. She is predeceased by her parents, Paulino and Floserfida Limos, brothers Paulino, Jr. and Teodoro, and sisters, Remedios and Erlinda.
Besides her family and profession, she loved dancing, haute cuisine, fashion, traveling, long walks with the family dog Sassie, and going to the spa. She cherished her Catholic faith and the Santo Niño.
She will be sorely missed, never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park, on March 22, 2014, at 11:00 am.
Arrangements under the direction of Pierce Bros. Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary.
