My Beloved Husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Grandfather, Uncle, Nino, Nephew, Sibling and The Best Friend one could have, Michael Paul Urenda (Mike), Born February 22, 1968 spread his wings and took flight to Paradise on April 18, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. He was born and raised in Colorado. As Michael would say he is survived by “My Love, My Life, My Wife” Joan Frances Urenda (Nuanes), his Mother-in-Law Gloria L. Nuanes. Step Son, Antonio D.J. Muniz, Step Daughter-in-Law, Gretchen Muniz, Grandchildren Zachary and Alexander; Step Daughter, Cristela G. Muniz, Step Son-in-Law, Fernando Archuleta, Grandchildren Jaylon, Najah and Xavian. His Mother Rosalie Becerra (Vigil) and siblings Tawna and Manuel; he was a loving, caring, hilarious Father to his three sons, Mychal J. Urenda, Giovanni D. Maestas, Joseph A. Urenda; Grandchildren Gianno, Jazlyn, Rihanna and Juliano.
Mike had many hobbies, he was rewarded by volunteering his time for various photography sessions for Venice Beach Muscle Competitions, LA Mounted Platoon Annual Fund Raising Ride, offering photography shoots for anyone that wanted to be in front of his camera. Mike was the nice guy with the most beautiful smile you saw at Venice Beach Pier he’d stroll up riding on his Low-Low or Sondors playing his Bose music to set the mood. Mike would venture almost daily to hang out at with The Targon Family, and chat it up with “The Mayor” of Venice Beach. Sunsets were Mikes favorite past time to reflect on the day and reset for the next. If you crossed Mikes’ path and he made eye contact with you it was likely he would engage in a conversation and you hung out for a bit longer and left with a new friend.
Mike was a grandfather his grandchildren will miss dearly, he would wrap his kindness and love around them every second he had to be certain his grandkids felt joy, his love and had fun. He was the cool grandfather he skateboarded, swam with dolphins, surfed and boogie boarded, snorkeled, took the kids out on his boat to wake board, and movie day with the grandkids was most priceless. Friendships with Mike were heartfelt and genuine. Like no other he was not a Diamond in the rough he as the Diamond right next to you.
Mike felt most achieved when he was asked to be on The Nuanes Race Team, you would have thought he won a Nobel Prize. REST IN PARADISE MY HUSBAND…UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN I WILL MISS YOU, YOUR TOUCH AND YOUR HAPPINESS.
Say not in grief that he is no more but say in thankfulness that he was. A death is not the extinguishing of a light, but the putting out of the lamp because the dawn has come –R. Tagore
