David grew up traveling with his father who was in the U.S. Army/Air Force. The family lived in many places including a short stint in occupied Japan. He received his Army commission in 1959. David and Dalna met in college and were married on September 9, 1960. He spent the next 56 years pursuing various careers, living in many different places, including: two assignments in Germany and two tours in Vietnam. In 1978, the family moved to San Luis Obispo, where he sang with the Mozart Festival Chorus, Master Chorale, Vocal Arts Ensemble, SLO/Opera (Pacific Repertory Opera), and Central Coast Gilbert and Sullivan. He was on the board of directors for the Vocal Arts Ensemble, Pacific Repertory Opera, and Mozart Festival. David loved to volunteer in any way he could, no job was too small. He spent a lot of his time helping KCBX, the Symphony, and donating blood to the blood bank. David's abiding love affair with Porsche began in 1968. He purchased a 1962 Silver 356 Cabriolet and joined the Porsche Club in Monterey. He enjoyed all Porsche club events especially autocrossing and rallying. The family moved to Paso in 1970, where he joined the California Central Coast Region Club (CCCR). His last military assignment was in Frankfurt, Germany where the family reinvigorated the defunct Germany Region. It went from zero members to several hundred members in a few short years. As a result of all of his hard work, in 1974, he awarded PCA (National) Enthusiast of the Year. In more recent years, David has been president of the CCCR several times as well as serving on the board in other capacities. David's last abiding interest was playing the ukulele. He enjoyed playing with many local groups including the SLO Strummers and Morro Bay Rock-in-Uke's.
