Indelisa was born on May 24th, 1964 in El Grullo, Jalisco, Mexico to J Santos Cabrera and María de Jesús Cabrera. Indelisa moved to the USA during her youth, and she graduated from Cajon High School in San Bernardino, CA in 1983.
Indelisa married Aaron Allan DeHart in 1983 and the couple had 2 children together. In 1989 she accepted a position as a bilingual tutor with San Bernardino Unified School District, where she worked for seven years. In 1996, she moved to Grover Beach, CA, and in 1998, began her career at her local Vons grocery store. She was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness, and dedicated her life to serving Jehovah God. She had a kind and generous heart, helping out those in need and asking for nothing in return.
Indelisa enjoyed observing and photographing nature, dancing and singing along to classic and contemporary pop music from Latin America and the USA, and spending time in community with loved ones. Her favorite movie, show, book, and play was Pride and Prejudice, an interest she shared with her daughter. She was an avid Dodgers baseball fan, frequently attending games with her husband and kids when the family resided in San Bernardino, and in recent years, she and Aaron enjoyed a road trip to watch the Dodgers spring training in Arizona. A self-described foodie, she enjoyed trying out the newest restaurants and also recreating her mother’s recipes from Mexico. Her family and friends will always remember her as a nurturing woman with a happy heart and fiery spirit.
Indelisa is survived by her husband of 41 years, Aaron DeHart; her children, AJ DeHart and Elissa DeHart, her grandchildren Leo Rhoads and Bailey Rhoads; and her siblings Jose Luis Cabrera, Imelda Cabrera Diaz, Ilda Tellez, Irma Navarette, Maria Knight, Gregorio Cabrera, Gabriel Cabrera, Ruth Berumen, Santos Cabrera Jr, and Abran Cabrera.
