

Myrtle McFarland Taylor of San Luis Obispo went home to the Lord Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the age of 94. Myrtle was born January 15, 1921 in Schwertner, TX to Oscar and Neely McFarland. Myrtle was united in marriage to Manuel Taylor on January 14, 1939 and to this union they were blessed with one daughter. The family moved from Texas to San Luis Obispo, California in 1952. Myrtle worked as a housekeeper for Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo for 28 years and retired in 1993.
Myrtle was a wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother who touched the lives of everyone she knew. She left so many wonderful memories that will be cherished by all that knew her. She loved unconditionally, she gave with no limits, and she cared with open arms. Myrtle was a natural comedian and the laughter she gave her family will be with them always.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband, five brothers, and seven sisters. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Annie Marie Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA; two grand-daughters Lanette Hamilton of San Luis Obispo, CA and Yvette Odumosu of Atlanta, GA; four great-grandchildren Polynese Harrison, Ashley Odumosu, Matthew Odumosu, and Nyah Odumosu; and one great-great-grandson Jayceon Jensen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Services will be held at Los Osos Valley Mortuary and Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11am. A graveside service will immediately follow.
