Steven Patrick Norris

Steven was born in San Luis Obispo and attended San Luis Obispo High School. He earned a BA from UCSD and studied international relations for two years in the United Kingdom. He then returned home to study law at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his JD in 1998.

Steven worked as an attorney in New York at Coudert Brothers LLP and in London at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer before returning to San Luis Obispo to serve as Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel to Lindvall Capital Management LLC.

He loved staying fit and during a respite from practicing law he was the co-owner of a gym in Valencia. At the time of his passing, he was Chief Compliance Officer at Open Door, an international investment firm.

A dog lover throughout his life, Steve was rarely without a pet dog by his side. He excelled at tennis and golf. He particularly enjoyed camping and hiking with his much loved little boy JT, of whom Steven recently said, “My son is my reason to be.”

Steven is survived by his parents John and Kathy Norris [nee Long], his son John T., his sister Leah Jenner and her husband Graham, nephews Brandon and Colin, several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters or Woods Humane Society can be made in his honor.

A celebration of his life will take place at Los Osos Trinity Methodist Church on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

A reception will follow at the Methodist Church.
