Adeline (Pat) Upton Upton Williams

Adeline was a graduate of Louisville Girls High School (1936) and earned a BSBA degree at University of Louisville (1977). She retired from K&IT Railroad after 29 years. She was an active member and former treasurer of Beechwood Baptist Church, organist for Franklin Street Baptist Church for 6 years, and was a lifelong member of Harmony Chapter 273 Order of Eastern Star; member of Kentuckiana Organ Club, past Treasurer of the City of Beechwood Village. Adeline also served as president of St. Matthews Women’s Club.

Adeline was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph Williams, daughters-in-law, Greta Williams and Sandy Williams, and two great-grandsons.

She is survived by Barbara (Marvin) Oliver, Robert (Sonya) Williams, Alice (Rick) Chastain, Richard Williams and David Williams. Adeline is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Adeline’s life will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville. Visitation is Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. and an hour prior to service on Friday.
