After serving four years in the United States Air Force, he began a 30 year career with Ford Motor Co. As a Warranty Auditor, he traveled all of the U.S.
From preschool until he passed away at age 80, Al was an avid fan of trains. He was a presenter for Operation Lifesaver and briefly served as an engineer. His greatest pride and joy is his model railroad display which extends over half of the basement. He spent many hours running trains with his model railroad club until his battle with Parkinson's disease prevented him from enjoying his hobby.
Throughout his life he served as an altar attendant in every parish he belonged to. Again, as his disease progressed he could no longer service in this ministry he loved.
Al is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anita. Together they raised 3 sons, Chris (Judy), Brad (Beverly), and Kirk (Patti). They have been blessed with seven grandchildren and 2 1/2 great-grandchildren.
