He was a WWII veteran, serving under Gen. Patton during the Battle of the Bulge as a tank driver. He was a UK fan, member of South End Church of Christ, he was affectionately known as Unk Al and was loved by everyone he met.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and his two sisters.
Unk Al is survived by nephew, whom resided with him as a young man, Glenn (Betty) Myers; niece Carol (Rick) Graham who cared for Al in the twilight of his life, and many other nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held at 12 pm, Monday, August 28, 2017 at Arch L Heady Resthaven. Visitation is at the funeral home from 3 to 8 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2017.
