Alfred Duncan Johnson

Alfred Duncan Johnson returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 14, 2022. His parents, the late Ben Johnson, and Evelyn Kerkandall Johnson of Morgantown, Kentucky, greeted him in heaven. They sure were happy to greet their only son.

Alfred was a man of God and served his family, community, and country with love and compassion. He was an active member of the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Brag, South Carolina. He received several awards and honors before being honorably discharged in 1959. Alfred received his High School Equivalency Certificate before he worked with the Louisville Police Department and retired after a few years, managed an apartment building, and as an Elder in his church.

Alfred’s greatest joy was his life with Christ. He loved gospel music and praising Jesus, at home and at church, and sometimes even in dance.

His beautiful wife, Evelyn, will cherish the 21 years they were able to spend together. Their love began when Evangelist Drummond Thom prayed them together and she looks forward to the day they can see each other again in their Heavenly Home. Alfred also leaves to cherish his memory sons, Rick Johnson (Charlotte) and Russell Johnson (Betty), grandchildren, Rick, LaShay, Rasika, MSG Quintin, Shaquera, SPC Bryce, Kyera, Brittany and Tayla’; many great-grandchildren, sister-in-law JoAnn, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Alfred’s life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 1pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady Okolona at 8519 Preston Hwy. Mr. Johnson’s wake will be the same day from 10am until the time of the service at 1pm.
