Alice Sloan

Alice was born on June 16, 1943 in Logan County, WV to the late Roma and Ella Hodge. She worked as an Executive Assistant in both the manufacturing and finance industries. Alice was a woman of faith, worshipping with her fellow members at Highview Baptist Church; were she was involved in the women’s Bible study, women’s’ ministry and an alter counselor. She has also been an Auxiliary member of Gideons International since 1985, a member of the Shelby County Republican Women’s Organization and an active member in the Ostomy Support Group.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Libby, Dorothy and Patty.

Here to carry on her beautiful memory are her husband of 38 years, Richard Sloan; sons, Tim Smolenski and Scott Smolenski (Jennifer); 15 grandchildren; and sisters, Judy (Ronnie) and Glenna.

Visitation will take place from 3-5pm and 6-8pm Tuesday, December 12th at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. The funeral service will take place at 11am Wednesday, December 13th at her church, Highview Baptist, 7711 Fegenbush Lane. The service will be preceded by a short visitation, starting at 10am, Wednesday at the church.
