Alma “Cissy” Grooms, 85, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Franciscan Health Care Center with her family by her side. She was born on July 23, 1929 to the late Edward T. and Alma Harris Savage. She was a long time member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill Grooms.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Hook (Bob); two granddaughters, Tina Gardner (Bill) and Erin Hook; two great-granddaughters, Delaney and Savannah Gardner; and a sister, Mary Jane Hayes.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Franciscan Healthcare Center for their compassionate care and support of the family and her Hosparus team.
A celebration service honoring Alma’s life will be conducted Monday, September, 29, 2014 at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-7 on Sunday at the funeral home.
