He was born June 8, 1939 the son of George and Theresa Oswald Phelphs. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Phelphs.
Alvin had worked at Grindmaster, Inc. for 20 years and was also a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Geneva Phelphs; daughter, Theresa Hickey (Stephen); two sons, Alvin Phelphs, Jr. (Christi) and Jeffrey Phelphs (Carrie); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Metzler, Jo Wellinghurst, Letha Horn, Margaret Hodge and one brother, Kenny Phelphs.
A service to celebrate Al’s life will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Private burial will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
