Amelia "Barbara" M. Sundell

Amelia "Barbara" M. Sundell, 88, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 25, 2011, at the Norton Hospice Pavilion surrounded by her loving family. She was the former Amelia Barbaria and a native of Oakland, CA. Amelia worked and retired from the former Levy Brothers, having worked in the credit department, and after retirement she was one of the "Levy Girls" that used to get together for lunch or dinner. It was a close knit group of ladies. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church where she had also been a cafeteria worker. Amelia was an avid bowler and league secretary for many many years.

She was preceded in death by her son, Carl Sundell and her mother, Maria Bua Barbaria.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 68 years, Carl E. Sundell; son, David (Kathy) Sundell and daughter, Linda (Billy) Ashcraft; sister, Dolores Barrett; grandchildren, Melissa (Curt) Crippin, Jackie Traughber, Anthony Sundell and five great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Amelia's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Highway, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
