Ms. Anna Lee Day, age 83, of Waco, GA, formerly of Louisville, KY, went home to the Lord on December 17, 2025. She was born July 20, 1942 in Smilax, KY to the late Homer Day and Rose Shell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Bessie Lee, Helen Joseph, Ernest Day, Seldon Shell, and Glenn Day.
Anna was a nurse her entire life, and she was truly one of the best-selfless, compassionate, and devoted to caring for others. She lived her life in service, always putting everyone else before herself. She was the hardest working woman known to her family.
Anna loved to garden, found peace in her church, Tallapoosa Church of God, and spent countless hours reading her Bible. Her faith guided everything she did. She was a devout Christian who lived her beliefs through her actions every single day.
She grew up incredibly poor in the hills of eastern Kentucky, yet through determination, faith, and hard work, she overcame every obstacle. She put herself through nursing school while working full time and raising three children on her own. When her children were young, she worked two jobs to make ends meet and never let them do without anything. She never ever spent money on herself so that she could make sure they had what they needed. She made sure they were always loved, protected, and provided for. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do to help her family. Whether it be one her children, grandchildren, or her brothers and sisters, she was always there.
She was an angel in every sense of the word, and she is now at peace, welcomed home by the Lord she loved so deeply. Her strength, faith, and love will live on through all of her family, who will forever love and miss her.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Dorathy Earls, of Waco, GA; sons and daughter in law, Abe Collins, of Ranburne, AL and David and Misty Coy, of Tallapoosa, GA; grandchildren, Jason Tumblin, Aaroy Coy (Brittney), Crista Thomas (John), Dustin Collins (Amy), Josh Colins, Brooke Bonner (Jake), and Anna Lane Coy; great grandchildren, Lauren Coy, Elanore Thomas, Alex Thomas, Brooklyn Loyall, Rileigh Collins, Addilynn Collins, Laney Collins, Maverick Bonner, and Grayson Bonner; sisters and brother in law, Marie Adcock, of Louisville, KY, Shirley Masters, of East Bernstadt, KY, Dottie Row, of Stanford, KY, Brenda and Danny Calahan, of Stanford, KY; and brothers and sisters in law, Bill and Debbie Cody, of Louisville, Barnell and Debbie Cody, of Burkesville, KY, Jerry and Audrey Day, of East Bernstadt, and Homer Day, JR., of Standford.
A visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in Tallapoosa, GA, Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
