

Arthur served his country in the United States Army and Air Force. In addition, he severed as a civil servant for Naval Ordnance. He was a lifelong member of Robinson/Plum Lodge #266 – Free and Accepted Masons and devoted member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church as well as a regular guest of Fern Creek United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Gilkey Williams; his son, Arthur M. Williams, III, his parents Arthur Mack Williams, Sr and Larnie Mae Shoemaker along with 8 siblings.
Left to cherish his memory daughters, Deborah Goeken (Al) & Nancy Shafferman (Brian); grandchildren Brian Gollar (Monica), Katharine and Taylor Shafferman, Justin Williams and Mack Williams; step grandsons, Thom Goeken (Amy) and Chris Goeken; great-granddaughters Christian Foster, Harper Gollar, Charlotte Goeken, Stella Goeken & Kinley Gollar; great-grandsons Thomas Goeken, Bennett Goeken & Dylan Shafferman, further survived by his sister, Marty Burress, many nieces & nephews plus countless friends and loved ones who were touched by the love and devotion he had for all of them.
Art will be remembered as a charismatic personality that never met a stranger and made everyone feel special. He was faithful in his belief in God and the strong belief one day he would be back with his beloved Betty who was the love of his life. He loved his family more than anything and was very proud of the legacy he was leaving behind. He was a very proud patriot and loyal to his country. He loved the United State of America and everything for which it stands.
His family would like to thank the numerous medical teams at Baptist Health’s ICU and Palliative Care units for making his departure from this life to the next as comforting, compassionate and calming as we could have hope for under the circumstances.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM immediately followed by Masonic Ceremony from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and Funeral Services from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
