

Betty moved to Louisville with her family at the age of 14 and remained in the area. She worked at General Electric for 15 years, where she was introduced to her husband of 66 years, Robert "Bob" Board. She later worked for JCPS and retired after 28 years of service. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to her loving husband, her sons, daughter and her church family and friends. Betty found and enjoyed the simple pleasures of working in the yard, being with family, playing dart ball at church, watching sports, and listening to country music and gospel hymns.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ebbin and Edna Sanders; son, Anthony "Tony" Nichols; brothers, Royce Sanders and Billy Sanders.
Left behind to cherish Betty's memory is her loving husband of 66 years, Robert "Bob" Board; her children, Robin Board (Peggy), Mark Board (Tammy), David Board and her adopted son, John Butler (Kayla); siblings, Peggy Wood and Jane Hawn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Betty would like to give a special "Thank You" to all the caregivers that touched her life and helped her in a time of need, your compassion and tender care for Betty was appreciated and will never be forgotten. God bless each of you for the wonderful care and service that you provided for her and the family.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213, followed by a service to honor Betty's life at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Betty will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Betty, may be made to Cloverleaf Baptist Church - Youth Missions.
