Betty Ann born December 15, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was a lifelong resident. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian Gries (nee Thomas), and her one sister. She is survived by two brothers, seven children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She raised seven children, after marrying Bob Corrigan in 1949. Betty Ann was a devoted mother and homemaker, noted for her exceptional energy in managing a tidy house, filled in the evenings with the aroma of homemade dinners, feeding a mere ten or more, a task that followed her surviving all the daily tasks involving her household and seven children. Being a talented seamstress, she made and designed clothes for herself and children, a skill she fine tuned throughout her life, creating unique treasures for herself and loved ones. In her last few years, quilting sparked a new sewing interest, leading to the creation of one-of-a-kind quilts for family members. A gifted chef, she loved gatherings at her table, to enjoy old favorites or testing new ones. Joining the ‘Friendship Force’, in the 90's, she became a world traveler with a group she quickly bonded with. She loved to reflect on her travels; discovering amazing people, places, and cultures. One private tour, flew her over the highest point on earth, Mt. Everest. She very much liked to keep busy; redecorating her home, sewing, crafting, cooking, shopping or planning get-togethers. She was an avid reader in her free time. Her favorite role was as Nana and Great Nana. She will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of life is planned on her birthday, December 15, 2025 at Wildwood Country Club from 4-7PM with a short service at 6PM.
Services and visitation with family will be held at Wildwood Country Club only. No flowers, please.
