

Mrs. Betty Henrich deWitt, 91, passed away Sunday, March 9th, 2014 at Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. Mrs. deWitt was born July 31, 1922 in Robesonia Pennsylvania to the late Vincent and Isabel Wirt Henrich.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and TWIGS of Kosiar Children’s Hospital. As her family was growing up she was a Girl Scout leader, band mom, PTA member and constant supporter of her children’s activities.
Betty was an avid golfer, bridge club player, excellent cook and devoted wife. She always made holidays and birthdays special. She was extremely proud of her family. Betty was truly a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and sister.
Mrs. deWitt is survived by her 6 daughters, Winnifred Preston (Sam), Carolyn Scholer, Betty Lou Murphy (Howard), Barbara McGee (Patrick), Laura Hoskins (Larry) and Catherine Hagan (Tim), grandchildren: Sam, Andrew and Ben Preston, Jennifer Wikoff, Allyson Norfleet, Barbara and David Murphy, Rodney and Roger Henry, John and Emily Varner, Catherine Britt, Laura and Sami Hagan and Rachel Cummings, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Barbara Taylor, 2 brothers, Vincent Henrich (Val) and Gustav Henrich (Terri).
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Wallace W. deWitt, a granddaughter, Melissa Lynne Henry and a son-in-law, Robert L. Scholer.
A celebration of Mrs. deWitt’s life will be conducted Thursday, March 13th, 2014 at 5:00 pm at Springdale Presbyterian Church, 7812 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40241 with a private inurnment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Betty.
