Beverly Diane Dawson

B. Diane Dawson was born two weeks before Christmas on Friday December the 13th 1929 and died June 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond B. and N. Maye Dawson and her ex-husband Glyn Chappell. She was a lifetime member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church and lifetime member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. After graduating cum laude from Georgetown College she worked 2 years for Liberty Bank and then 40 years for Housing Authority of Louisville as an accountant. Diane was long time President of Louisville Girls High School Alumnae Club, and was a member of US Singletons and the Brightstar Chapter Order of Easter Star. She loved to travel and visited 18 different countries. She was a UK fan and Green Bay Packer fan. She loved playing Mexican Train Dominoes, reading murder mysteries, feeding the squirrels and the birds, and spending time with friends and her cats. She is survived by good friends Julia and Wayne Hurt, Janice Barr, and Barbara Steele, all of whom loved her and were a good help to her for many years. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Her funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:00 am. She will be buried beside her parents and grandparents at Grove Hill Shelbyville Cemetery, Shelbyville, Ky.
