Brenda was a lifelong best friend of our mom, Bettye McNary Leis. Their mothers were close friends, too, and so Brenda & Bettye were like sisters from childhood on.  A true and beloved friend was only one of the wonderful things Brenda was.

If you ever looked for the most spunky, big-hearted, open-minded, caring, deeply wise and inspiring human being God ever made... Well look no longer. We are ALL blessed to have known her, blessed to have hugged her, blessed by her love, blessed to have laughed with and enjoyed and known her. 

Brenda, you were a great gift in many of our lives.  ❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️

Brenda or Bobo's, life was a blessing.  Losing a mother, or stepmother leaves us with such a loss but in Bobo's passing I feel the need to celebrate a life lived so very well.   She did such a great job of raising her family God invited her to help with another.  She was so full of love, patience, faith, conversation and much needed advice she helped to heal wounds we really didn't now we had, or maybe we did know.   She never stopped, over many years, making sure we knew we were always a part of her family. I do know that her faith was so strong she knew when she left this life she would be walking into the arms of Jesus and into a better life.   I hope Dad and all her loved ones gone before were there to greet her, and pray, one day, us left behind will be with them all again
She will always be my family and close in my heart.

WE cherished that time with family...

My earliest memories with Brenda was spending a week with her & family on Albany in the summer as kids. We would go to the Crescent theater, sometimes seeing scary  movies & being afraid walking home.  Also many pleasant hours at Crescent Hill pool.  But the joy of these last few years of sharing a Bible study has surpassed all of that.  She is my example to live up to as a believer.

Many, many fond memories of my cousin Bren. She was probably my momma’s best friend as they both got older. Brenda joined a few of us on a Senior Retreat in Tennessee. Momma wanted to go into Gatlinburg but she was not walking well at the time. Bren suggested we see if the facility where we were staying might have a wheelchair we could use. They did so  we took Momma into Gatlinburg in and  out of shops, It was rickety but we managed. When we returned Bren opened the back of the car to return the wheelchair. As she lifted it it fell apart in about ten pieces. We put it in a tote bag and returned it. So much laughter. For the rest if the week we laughed. That’s what being with Brenda was about for me.  Lots and lots of laughter. One more memory. 
    Momma was notorious for lifting things from Sunday buffets, wrap in a napkin, and put it in her purse for later. Bren and Momma were driving to my brother Robert’s  house for a bonfire and chili supper. He lived out a ways over some back roads. Mom got turned around and it was getting late. Bren said she was really getting hungry. Before the chicken clucked Momma pulled out two pieces of fried chicken from Sunday’s buffet, from her purse. The two of them pulled over to the side of the road and chowed down. Brenda showed so much love to my momma. Not judging her or anyone else showed great character.
