A lifelong resident of Louisville, Carl was a true South End native with a love for the Louisville Cardinals, Churchill Downs, and the Suburban Fish Fry. He was a devoted employee of the Kentucky State Fair Board for the last 30 years where he was still currently employed, upon his passing.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carlie Compton and Betty Compton; and his beloved Chocolate Lab, Shelby. He is survived by his son, Matthew Compton (Leidiana); bonus children, Bridget Lasley (Kyle), Chris Bucci (Marissa), Shane Bucci (Brandi), Tabbetha Bucci; and his wonderful grandchildren; cherished companion, Lisa Smith; siblings, Bonnie Compton, Debbie Compton, Sandra Madden, Donna Johns (Russell) and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of a funeral service, a private celebration of Carl’s life will be held at a later date.
