

McCoy, Carlisle "Rex", 91, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at his home in Louisville, KY. He was born on January 23, 1923 in Morgantown, KY to Finley and Ramah (Givens) McCoy. After his retirement from Rohm & Haas, he played golf on a daily basis. He was an avid golfer who fell in love with the game when he started caddying at the age of 13 at Audubon Country Club. One of his proudest moments was when he shot under his age (72) at Charlie Vettiner Golf Course and went on to do it two more times.
He was preceded by his wife, Mildred (Rodgers) McCoy in 2008.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Craig McCoy of Louisville, Sandy McCoy Griffiths (Jim) of Louisville, and David McCoy of Largo, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Brad Harp (Melissa), Chris McCoy, Autumn Bruger (Alex), and Jade McCoy; 7 great-grandchildren, Cierra, Hailee, Arianna, Jaymilynn, Lucas, Evan, and Isabella; 4 brothers, Stanley, Kenneth, Tim, and Berry; 4 sisters, Dorothy, Emma, Norma, and Linda.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday at 12pm at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday from 12pm-7pm and Monday from 10am-12pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family wishes memorial donations in memory of Rex to be directed to Metro United Way, 334 E Broadway, Louisville, KY 40222. Envelopes for the memorial donations can be received at the funeral home.
