Catherine Marr Atwell, 87, passed to a heavenly place on August 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Harlan E. Atwell and a son, Roger Marr. She is survived by her children Rita Atwell, Sheila McCarter (Wayne), Sonny Atwell, Tim Atwell (Sheila), and Robin Brown; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; and 4 sisters, Rose McCubbin, Geneva Hall, Marianna Loyall, and Maybelle Berry. A service to celebrate Mrs. Atwell’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be after 11:00 am Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
