Charles George Durck, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on April 4, 2026. Born November 15, 1951, Charles will be remembered as a beloved and cherished man whose compassionate heart, patient spirit, and selfless nature quietly shaped the lives of those who knew him.
Charlie was known for being both private and fun—often humorous, sometimes sarcastic, and always unmistakably himself. He was self-employed and known throughout his life as a handy-man, valued for his practical skill and steady willingness to help. Charlie met his life partner, Nancy, and together they enjoyed life for over 24 years. He was loved and cherished by many, and the life they shared remains a lasting part of his story.
A man of deep interests and careful attention to detail, Charlie loved everything about model airplanes, history and food. A self proclaimed “foodie”, Charlie often said “I’ll eat it as long as it isn’t moving.” He was very detailed oriented and took special joy in teaching his chosen daughter, Tae, and his granddaughters Taylor and Jayla how to build and paint them with his airbrush. Charlie was full of knowledge and seemed to know fun facts about so many different things, always ready to share something interesting at just the right moment. He enjoyed long walks in nature, being outdoors, music (specifically fleet wood mac) and even the simple satisfaction of mowing the grass. He also treasured his daily talks with his sister, Bonnie as well as going out to eat with Taylor and Jayla—sitting around the table, laughing together, and making ordinary moments feel meaningful. Charlie was a member of the Democratic National Committee.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Alexander Durck and Mildred Richardson; and his life partner, Nancy Louise Fischer.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Bonnie Graham; his nephew, Robert Edwards; his niece, Barbara Edwards; his daughter, Tae Diebold; his granddaughters, Taylor Richardson and Jayla Richardson; and family friend, Melissa Casey.
A special thank you to Hildegard House for taking such great care of our Charlie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Kidney Foundation and to Hildegard House.
