

Charles Munson Sr., a man whose life was defined by the deep roots he planted and the Family that grew from them, passed away Peacefully at Home surrounded by his Family. Chuck was known for his quick wit and Great Sense of Humor. He was often plotting a harmless prank or Relaxing/ Working at his Favorite Place, the Camp at Rough River. Chuck lived life with a steady hand and mischievous glint in his eyes. He was a pillar for his children and a constant source of Wisdom with stories for the generations that followed. He was often known for his ability to fix almost anything with duct tape. While he answered to many names throughout his life, his most cherished title in his later years was "OLD GRANDPA", a name given to him with love by his many great-grandchildren. Chuck was the Founder and Owner of Metro Business Machines established in 1970. He was a Navy Veteran and served in the Korean War. Chuck was a member of Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church where he was an active member for many years, head of the picnic money room, head basketball coach of the men’s league, a member of the men’s club and even helped build the gymnasium.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Vetter Munson, parents: Frank and Myrtle Hertel Munson, siblings: Jo, Elizabeth, Bob, Catherine and Jerry. Survived by Siblings: Pat, Carolyn and Theresa.
Chuck’s legacy lives on through his four children: Chuck Munson (Kim), Laura Munson, Suzanne Fowler (Mark), and Dianne Curtsinger (Tony).
He was the proud Grandfather of: Christina Murphy (Bobby), Alicia Boggs (Jesse), Connor Garvin (Kirsten), Amanda Lewis (Matt), Dustin Fowler, Kayla Nalley (Adam) and Kyra Frost.
"Old Grandpa" will be deeply missed by his twelve great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Ethan, Patrick, Tucker, Aliza, Aiden, Ellie, Josie, Gus, Theo, Finley, Forest, and Zeke. He will also be Deeply missed by his 2 furry lap pillow Cats: Cali and Figaro.

Celebration of Life visitation is Wednesday February 25, 2026 from 3-8 P.M. with prayer service at 7:30 P.M. Funeral Services are Thursday February 26, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery 4623 Preston Hwy. Louisville, KY 40213
