Chase C. Gavin, 22, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Chase was larger than life! Everyone who knew him loved him. He was selfless, caring, and kind to all - always having that infectious smile of his. Chase was a standout football player for DuPont Manual High School and a graduate of the University of Louisville. While working as an assistant for the Louisville Metro Council, Chase was very involved with the “Coat-A-Kid”, “Back to School Backpack Drive”, and “A Better Way” programs. He was Campaign Field Manager and Recruitment Officer Volunteer for David Yates State Senate Campaign. Chase was recently involved and initiated many community events and programs including the “Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway”, “Gift Card Give Back”, “Southwest Future Dreamers Civic Leadership Program”, and was a board member for Spaulding University Veteran's Group. Chase was formerly employed as a Financial Intern at Northwest Mutual and the Operations Manager for the Louisville Athletic Club. Most recently, Chase was a Financial Analyst with Nationwide Financial Services. He was a huge UofL fan and loved the San Diego Chargers!
Left to cherish Chase’s memory is his mother, April Cole; father, Christopher Gavin; grandparents, Nathan and Barbara Morgan; Uncle and Aunt, Nathan and Jennifer Morgan; cousins, Tyler, Brianna, and Grayson; many extended family and a huge number of friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 2:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday from 2:00pm – 8:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in Chase’s honor should be directed to Shirley’s Way Coat-A-Kid program.
