Chet Needy

A 1966 graduate of Bishop David High School, Chet proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War (1968–1969) and remained a devoted veteran throughout his life. He retired from CSX Railroad after a long and dedicated career.

Chet will be remembered as an incredible coach and mentor, a faithful volunteer at the Louisville VA Hospital, and a man who gave generously of his time to family, friends, and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mildred Needy, and sisters Donna McNeil and Joan Hagerman.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 58 years, Sandy Bishop Needy; children Michelle Needy (Wayne) Dossey and Jeff Needy; grandchildren Cameron and Chaeli Dossey, and sisters Chady Eversole (Jimmy), Jan Murphy (Doug), and Laura Sims.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at Arch L Heady at Resthaven 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville KY 40218, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Holy Cross Scholarship Fund in honor of Chet Needy.
