

She was born July 12, 1927 in Campton, KY, the daughter of William and Esther VanCleve Dunn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Lee Rose, Jr.; and two sisters, Gladys Stamper and Marie Gibbs.
Chris graduated from Wolfe County High School in 1945, married in 1946 and then moved to Louisville, where she lived for the next 66 years. After raising her family, she re-entered the workplace at first as an interior designer for Ethan Allen, then for Hellringers and finally with the company she started at age 70, Rose Interiors. Over the course of a 30 plus year career, she touched many lives with her talent for design and won several awards. She was a member of Christ Church UMC, longtime member of the Home Builders Assoc., past member of the Crescent Hill Woman’s Club, and had been on the design team at Elite Homes.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Dr. Stephen Rose (Peggy) of Evansville, IN, Michael Allen Rose (Vicki) of Prospect, KY, and Christi Farmer (Mark) of Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Dunn Shockey (Drexel) and Billie Dunn Lindon; one brother, Russell Dunn (Bernice), and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Christine’s life will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Family and friends may gather from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
