Louie who was also known as Buddy was born May 21, 1945 to John and Margaret Hettinger in Louisville, KY, where he was raised on Payne street, and attended St. Frances of Rome school, and church with his family. He lived the last 12 years in Punta Gorda, FL. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 2002 after working for 33 years at C. Lee Cook, Dover Division in Louisville, KY. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sports of all kind. Louie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Linda, now of Shelbyville ; his 2 sons, Eric Hettinger of Shelbyville, KY and David Ashby of Louisville; his 2 daughters, Alicia Hettinger of Louisville and Linette Breedlove of Jeffersonville, IN, and his 3 grandchildren, Steven, Rachael, and Sarah.
Services to celebrate Louie's life will be held at 2 pm Sunday, December 7, by Father Jerry Eifler, in the chapel of Arch L Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. with a reception to follow at the funeral home.
