

Clinton Jay “Frotz” Korfhage, passed away on October 26, 2017 at Nazareth Home. He was born in Louisville, KY to the late Margreat and Louis Korfhage, Sr. He graduated from Male High in 1943 and entered the Army Air Force soon thereafter. He completed pilot training in 1945. While in the Army Air Force he attended Whittenberg College in Springfield, Ohio.
He joined the family business, Korfhage Florist and Nursery Company and was named partner and Director of Nursery Operations in 1949. In 1981 Clinton left the family business and opened Clinton Korfhage Landscaping. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He served as Executive Board Member of Louisville Altenheim Home for The Aging, was on the Board of Methodist Evangelical Hospital and the Wesley Manor & Methodist Retirement Homes of Kentucky. He was also a member of the German American Club, Loyal Order of Moose and a member of the Valley Masonic Lodge #511, for 72 years. He was a past President of the Southern Nursery Association, a member of the Kentucky Nursery and Landscape Association and a member of the Louisville Nursery Association. Clinton has beautified residential and commercial properties throughout the Kentuckiana area, winning many beautification awards.
He loved ice skating, skiing, sports of all kinds, traveling and playing Santa Claus annually at the Belvedere for the city of Louisville.
Clinton is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Korfhage, his daughter; Barbara Kennedy and son; Martin Korfhage, brother; Louis Korfhage Jr., sisters; Betsy Everson and Lillian Sue Korfhage.
He is survived by his daughter; Joyce Rhea, Sons; Todd (Cheryl) and Richard Korfhage. Daughter in-law; Lynne Korfhage, Son in-law; John Kennedy, Grandchildren; Andrea Gagnon (Roger), Shannon Robinson, Kim Wilkinson, Bradley Korfhage, Lauren Korfhage and Alex Korfhage, Great Grandchildren; Drew Palsha, Paige Korfhage, Shelby and Emmy Korfhage and Jack Pettitt.
Visitation for Clinton will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:00am with one hour visitation before the service, from 10:00am-11:00am at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2000 Douglass Blvd, Louisville, KY 40205 with interment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue Louisville, KY 40204.
