

Conrad Amenta, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in New Britain, son of the late Paul and Josephine (Mazzarella) Amenta. He attended local schools graduating from New Britain High School in 1948. During the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the Air Force. He was a 1959 graduate of the University of Hartford receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering. Conrad worked for United Technology for 32 years and upon retiring in 1993 moved to Louisville. He was a long time member and former President of the Farmington Unico Club, and he worked tirelessly for the Kentucky chapter of the Parkinson’s Support Center where he served as Vice President for three years.
He is survived by his wife, Nina and his children, Michael, Joann and Constance. He is also survived by his step-children, Richard David Hardy and Sharon Cassel. He leaves five grandchildren; his sister, Anne Ferrante of Kensington and, his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Patricia Amenta of East Berlin.
Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, August 7, 2015 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial with military honors will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
