

He was retired from USS Steel in the Cement Plant in East Chicago, IN. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Dallas is a member of Christ Church United Methodist and a former member of Hobart (Indiana) United Methodist Church. He was a licensed Pilot and an avid wood worker. The family would like to thank Home Instead for the loving care provided Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Faith L. Tidwell 14 years ago and recently by a son Dallas W. Tidwell.
Left to cherish his memory are his 3 daughters, Nancy Blanford (Tom), Judy Edelen (Michael) and Barbara Vickers; 1 daughter in- law, Edith Tidwell; 5 grandchildren, Kristen Meiners (Eric), Jennie Condra (Dave), Emily Blanford (Craig Johnson); Amy Edelen (Jessica) and Evan Blandford; 2 great-grandchildren, Dinah and Levi Condra.
A service to celebrate the life of Dallas will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road with Military Honors. Visitation will also be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Graveside Services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. CDT at Hobart (Indiana) Cemetery. In lieu of customary expressions of sympathy the family has requested memorial gifts to Hosparus of Louisville.
