He was a native of Louisville and a graduate of Saint Martha Grade School and a member of the Saint Xavier High School Class of 1979 where he was on the 1978 State Championship Football Team. Dan went on to work in the steel service industry for over 30 years, which gave him a career and community of colleagues he loved.
Dan loved to play poker, cheer on the Louisville Cardinals and above all else spend time with his family and extensive network of friends. He was a devout Catholic who was active in his parish, Saint Gabriel the Archangel. There he was involved with the Men’s Club and was the self-declared “Number Two Ranked Usher” at 10 am Sunday Mass.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ted and Jane Henle.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of nearly 32 years, Jean (Hardesty) Henle and the two accomplishments he was the most proud of were his sons, Drake and Jared Henle. He is also survived by his siblings and siblings-in-law: Tony (Becky) Henle, Larry (Bonnie) Henle, Michelle (Jay) Jacobsen, Rusty (Claude Drouet) Henle and Sally (Tony) Murr and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 10 at Saint Gabriel the Archangel 5505 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY 40291. Visitation will be from 1-8pm Thursday, December 9 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY 40218.
