A cornerstone of the Courier-Journal for over nine years and, most recently, the Manager for the Scouts shop in Louisville with the Boy Scouts of America.
David was a huge movie lover and always had a quote appropriate for almost any situation. It was well known that Batman was his favorite character, and he was adamant that the 1989 version of the Batman movie will forever be the best.
While David loved all sports, he could almost always be found either watching UofL Cardinals Basketball, the LA Dodgers play baseball, the Dallas Cowboys fighting through a game, or yelling at the on-edge games that the Dallas Stars Hockey team always seemed to produce.
David was a kind and compassionate soul, always willing to lend a helping hand. His loyalty to friends and family was unwavering, and his infectious laughter brightened every room.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Betty J. Board; brother, Anthony Lee Nichols; and grandmother, Elizabeth Preston.
Left behind to cherish David’s memory is his father, Robert O. Board; siblings, Robin Board (Peggy) and Mark Board (Tammy); fur babies, Dallas “Little Gyrl” Board and Dakota Board; and his closest friends, Joe Cooley, Matt Johnson, Chasson Higdon, Todd Patterson, Belle Taylor, Jeff Sullivan, and Lauren French.
A visitation for David will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home. A Celebration of David’s Life will directly follow at 2:00 p.m. David will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
