I miss you more than ever. They say it gets easier with time. I say it doesn't. Not a day goes by I don't think of you or talk to you. I love you and I'll see you again someday.

Somehow it’s been a year and the hurt and hole is still as big as it was this day last year. I’ll never forget what I had to do, the phone calls I had to make, what I have to forever live with in my mind. 
A girl should simply just never be without their dad. 
My favorite quote is that grief is just love with no where to go, because that’s really the best way to describe it. I’ll never understand even though I try too, i’ll never get over it even though I seem to get through the days, and I always have you on my mind.

Dad and Josh. You always made sure he had what he wanted when we couldn't afford it. From his love of batman to baseball you help him get it. 

Dad and asher. Unfortunately he won't have many fond memories of you but trust me he will know all about you. You always tried to give him stuff he wasn't supposed to have rather it be slushies or suckers you would always sneak him something.

Dad and Landon at the car show. That little boy loves you dad, he talks about you every dad. He always wanted to go stay at papaws house. 

I will always remember the first time I met you. I thought you were a scary and intimidating man and I didn't want to get on your bad side. That only lasted until I actually met you. Once I knew you, I realized you were the nicest man. You welcomed me in with open arms and I could never express how good that made me feel. I knew I could always count on you if I needed anything. I could call you with a question that I know I could have googled but I would much rather have called you to find the answer. You were like a dad to me and I will forever be grateful for the time I had with you and mourn the time that I will now miss with you. You were the best papaw my kids could have asked for. They love and miss you so much. I wish I could accurately describe how much of an impact you have had on my life and how much better it is because of you. I still cannot believe you're gone. I'm glad to have gotten another dad for the time that I did. I will see you again one day. Love you forever!

Dad I miss you so much, I wish I could have one last talk with you. You always answered the phone for me no matter what was going on, if I was having a bad day, needed to ask you for advice, money, car problems, you held all the answers. When I was down you knew what to say to cheer me up or make me laugh. All the times we'd sit outside and drink beer smoke some blacks and you'd tell me stories about the good Ole days. The many times we'd get finish working on the car and we'd ride down cane run to an empty parking lot and you'd roast the tires on the car, slammin thro each gear leaving a cloud of smoke. All the baseball games for me and all the ones for the kids, the best part was always sending you pictures  or videos of the boys. Or just simply when you'd ride by wave and honk with the biggest smile. I will always remember and cherish these and countless other moments throughout my life,  thank you for all the love and support you gave me dad. All gas and no brakes, I'll see you at the finish line, love always your little all-star big Willie 

My name is Sarah, or as my dad would call me, Sarah Lee, and I am his oldest daughter. As you all know, to know my dad was to love my dad. He was kind, gentle and thoughtful. 
Since my son was born 6 years ago, my dad came to our house every Thursday for dinner. Thursday nights will never be the same. 
For my dad's birthday every year I would make him a German chocolate cake with extra extra icing. Gordon would always help blow out his candles. Birthdays will never be the same. 
Our lives will never be the same. My son lost his best friend and that's a void I will forever try my best to fill. 
Little did I know, my last birthday would be the last birthday I would have with my dad. He was always the first person to text me. A part in my last birthday text message says "we've always had a unique bond from the time you were a baby to a little girl to a grown woman from barney to your first car everything in between and after. no one or nothing can break that" 
I love you daddyo. I'll never get over you. 

we will always be a piece of dad walking and nobody can ever take that away from us. His grandkids came first, he loved all of his babies so much and it was such an easy thing to see. He loved my mom, who was his whole world for 39 years. He loved his mom, or his mammy, and his dad, who was his best buddy. He also loved his brother and his sister, and everyone in-between. My dad was not even an animal person, but he told his Looney toon, which is my cat, he loved her all the time and would let her play at his feet, but also get mad when she played and messed up the curtains. I miss hearing him call Sunny ‘Squeaky McGee.’

I will always miss 7504 Eider Dr, my childhood home, the only place I’ve ever known. I will miss hearing his Semi-truck drive away in the morning, and make the loud pop sound when he put it in park in the driveway. I will miss seeing the bright neon yellow hazard vest walking down the driveway to get the mail, and the random times he would talk to me over the security cameras, “Hi Em!” 
I will miss his voice, his laugh, and his chocolate brown eyes. I will miss shaving his neck, the way he smells, and his hands. I will miss his hands the most. He has the roughest hands but the softest touch, that's my dad.

I will embrace all of his good qualities and put them into practice in my daily life, I will be the woman he always knew I could be. 
I love you so much dad, I will forever miss you and never not question “why?” but my heart knows you are at peace. I know you’re in a better place, but I wish that I could see your face and hear your voice one last time. 

Though I'm not rushing my life, I cannot wait to see you again.

If the colors mixed in his straw, he would always point it out and show me.  My dad loved Twizzlers, the cherry pull-apart ones, and as much as I tried to stay away from sweets he would always offer and hand me one, and the next thing I knew we were sitting together eating them. A bag never lasted more than 2 days with us in the house together.
	2 Big Bufords, no onions extra mayonnaise. 2 Bean burritos with extra, extra red sauce. Sausage pizza, make sure there's extra pizza sauce. He would always say there was never enough sauce. Bananas were a necessity at our house, he took one every morning. “I want you to go to the store later and get some of those nice bananas that you’ve been finding lately; the big real bright yellow ones.”
	Lemon. Oreos. This was one of the last things we ate together before he passed away. I never thought I liked them until he gave me some after-dinner one night voluntarily. “Daaaang, did you eat the rest of my cookies?” Yes, I did dad, and I should've let you finish them instead because they were your favorite, and they were yours.
My dad was the biggest fan of Elvis, he sent me the new movie trailer and told me we needed to go see it together, he was so excited, and, tragically, he never will get to. My dad looked up to Dale Earnhardt, he was a true role model for him. 
	My dad was more than fair, he was a humble soul, he was kind, compassionate, giving… he was everything a man should be. He worked hard and put his 110% into everything he did. If he set his mind to something he would not give up until the project was complete. There was nothing more important to my dad than his family. His family always came first, it meant everything to him. He made a difference all the time, often without even trying, because that's just who he was.
	Dad loved all of his kids, we were his whole bc life and we were the air that he breathed. The greatest thing that my dad and my parents ever did was give me my 5 siblings, (… cont)

Hi everyone. Thank you for being here for my dad and my family, everyone here meant a lot to my dad. 

This is one of the hardest things I believe I will ever have to do, and it is difficult to stand before you and attempt to apprehend my dad in words. It is never an easy task to capture someone in writing, as words fall short of capturing how truly special someone was. For the past couple of days I kept thinking, “How can I find the words to say to describe my dad, when he meant so much?” 
	My dad. Oh my gosh, my dad. I was such a lucky girl to have a dad like mine, who always made sure I never wanted for nothing, always made sure I had the best birthdays and Christmases, and took every chance he got to do the simple things, like writing ‘be safe’ on grocery lists or bringing me a snack cake. 
This past weekend, my life changed for the worst as I’m sure all of ours did. I truly know and believe my dad would never do anything to hurt me, he never had before; but this will i never get over. I will never stop missing him for as long as I'm breathing. 
	Everyone sitting before me knows my dad would stop anything that he was doing if anyone needed help.
If you needed money, he was opening his wallet before you could finish your sentence.
If something was wrong with your car, he had already ordered your part from eBay 5 minutes before you could even tell him what was wrong with it.
And if you called, he would pick it up before the first ring could even go through. He could be mid-driving, sleeping, eating, or even in the middle of unloading a container, he would always find a way to answer the call.
	My dad had a very strong love for slushies. He would always walk through the door with one in his hand from FiveStar or Thorntons, and if he didn't you better believe I had to stop and get him one on my way home. Mt. Dew, Cherry, the white Firecracker flavor, and Blue raspberry all mixed together was his go-to. (…cont)

Today is the day. Im nervous. Im scared. Im angry. Above all else, im grateful. Grateful for all the years we had together. The times i needed you, you were there. When you needed me, i was there. Somewhere in the end it seems we werent there for each other enough. Now we wont be there for each other again. 

Like father, like son. Thats how the saying goes. But in many ways, that didn't really apply to me. I was never a nascar fan or an Elvis fan. The only interest we really sharred was cars, but even that faded as i got older.

It was cool to be a kid riding around in mustangs and camaros listening to girls girls girls and license to ill. It was fun to be a kid going trucking and trying to crank the legs down on a container. It was tiring to be a kid and go hot wheeling at 4 in the morning searching for treasure hunts.

Obviously my dad had a major role in my life. From potentially saving my life as a baby, to advice on raising my own child. Teaching me how to work on my car or DIY a home project. Teaching me to work hard and have respect. To appreciate what i had. To help others when in need. He helped me get every car ive ever owned. He helped me get every job ive ever had. Needless to say, without him, i would not be the man i am today. 

I cant stand here and share every memory i have with him, but one of the worst times of my life is filled with moments of him by my side. Holding my hand and running his fingers through my hair. Moving my legs around for me when i couldnt. Even video chatting with me practically every day. The time he spent with me in the hospital will always be remembered. Im positive we couldve weathered his storm too had he lived up to the slogan that helped us get through mine, to never give up.

ugh. i so miss you and this is not fair. I start work tomorrow and you told me “I'll say it again I'm proud of you Emily good luck I hope it's everything you hope it is 😊 “ You was so happy i finally got a job that wasn’t 30+ mins away, you didn’t have to worry about me driving far and something happening to me or my car. this is not fair. i should be able to go tomorrow and tell you all about my day when i get back, instead i’ll just think about you all day and have to send you mind thoughts instead. i love you 

You made me feel welcomed from the first time I met you, and made me feel loved as I became your family. We quickly bonded over our shared appreciation of Dale Earnhardt and german chocolate cake (it's an in-law thing). You mean more to me than you ever knew and I hope you can feel how loved you are. Thank you for helping create this family of wonderful people that I love. You will be forever missed and always loved. 

I needed you this morning. I wanted to call you and ask your advice. I couldn't. This is a first of many I'm sure. I really don't know what I'll do without you. I miss you, I miss the sound of your voice, I miss seeing your name in my phone, I miss hearing you playing in the other room. My heart is broken. I love you daddy.

I think you got a chicken wrap that night, then we went next door to Thorntons and got a slushie. I will FOREVER miss you, I will never live another normal day. I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since I last heard your voice already, life is such a thief. It robbed me of you and the time we spent together, and the time we were supposed to have in the future. Today was so hard. I told you girls never stop needing their dad and I MEANT THAT. Refferring to the lyrics I posted, I had to include this picture. "Paint Me A Birmingham" was the last song that David sent to me. I will cherish that song and the last words he spoke to me for the rest of my life. I'll be waiting on the front yard swing for you, and I love you very much.

will never forget you and the family letting me move in for the summers while me and emily ran around like crazy kids. first family i got to watch NASCAR with. always going to kentucky kingdom. some of my favorite memories was with you guys. never being treated any less just being a neighborhood kid. will love all of you forever, my thoughts and prayers to all. 

I’ve known the Bryant family since I was 15 years old, and this is so heart breaking.  David was one of the kindest souls I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, and the kind of person that always made you feel welcome no matter what, and certainly was a wonderful uncle to my children, growing up.

I’m so very sorry to the family for this great loss.  David loved his children and grandchildren and loved the time he spent with them. He was very close to his mother and was a good son. May God give the family strength  and comfort at this time.  

I had the privilege of working with David for many years at CPG. He was a hard-working and kind soul with a beautiful smile. I was so devastated when I heard of his passing.  I would like to express my sincere condolences to his family, both personal and his CPG family!  You are all in my thoughts and prayers        Rest In Peace dear friend! My heart is broken I hurt so bad,my life is changed forever,you were my first,I remember when I first gave you your bottle I held you so tight you puked all over us,I panicked,you were allergic to milk,my last conversation with you was at Mike Linnings,now I will have to say goodbye but son I will see you again,but for now the pain is unbearable,my heart hurts so bad,the tears don't stop,I want to hold you,I miss you,I want to tell you I love you,I have asked why so many times,I say why Dave,but a part of me went with you when God called you home,go rest high on that mountain, Son,Your Mammy.

I remember when Sherry and I were dating she said I can't wait for you to meet my brother you're going to love him and that i did and it only grew for 20 yrs. We ended up at his house on our honeymoon. I connected with him from the start. I always considered myself very lucky to have married Sherry but also gained a brother.  I do know that if there are muscle cars in heaven hes going to have the cleanest one there. I love you brother and my heart is broke.  I'll miss you more than words can explain.  

From the first day I met Shirleys Son David,I could tell he was a warm and a kind person,he made me feel like family,as we were truckers we soon found out we had a lot in common.we met at a restaurant and real soon kicked up a conversation,he was so easy to talk to,like we were friends forever,I could tell  right away he loved his Mama,or Mammy as he called her,he will be greatly missed by all,I loved the day he showed me his cars,we immediately became family,our visits home has changed forever,I hope you found peace,your friend Larry Hembree.

David was one of the best men I have every known. So humble and was always the same person. Didn't matter where he was at, he would always speak if he knew you. I am just now realizing he also loved Elvis. Between his love for Dale Earnhardt and Elvis, he obviously had great taste also.  He is going to be forever loved and missed by many!!! 

We played all night. We won all night. We laughed all night. Good times. 

You and Sarah danced to I Loved Her First at our wedding. Ever since then that song has choked me up, particularly after I became a father myself.

I always remember thinking when we were younger that David was so gruff, lol little did I know he had a great sense of humor and a wonderful personality and that we would eventually end up extended family, he was always fun when we would end up walking the neighborhood with the kids trick or treating or at Gatti's for the b-ay parties. I am so sorry for your loss, there are no words that will comfort you, no amount of flowers to fill the hole that is there. the only thing you can do is hold on to all your cherished memories and remember all the laughs and love he gave you.  Allow yourself to cry and to grieve but remember how much he loved you and allow yourself to smile also.

gordon david. oh how he loved his papaw. and his papaw adored him even more. they were best buddies, always by each others side. playing monster trucks and board games, eating suckers and popsicles, or taking a short nap on the couch. my dad always told me gordon was special. he was always so proud of their bond. a bond I'll make sure isn't broken.

Working with David over the last three years we became friends. So often he spoke of his children. I can say, without a doubt, he lived for his family. The news of his passing shook me to my core. He loved his weekly dinner with Sarah and her children. He was so proud of Emily and all of his boys. David was always smiling and in a good mood. He was one of the best men I have ever had the privilege of knowing. To say he will be missed is an understatement. I love you David, and I pray you found peace. I will continue to pray for the family that are left with your absence. 

So sorry for the families loss!!! I never forget waking to your house in the snow and looking at all your race cars you used to collect and getting to play on your truck!!! Sending thoughts and prayers to you all!!! 

I remember uncle d was always so happy every time I seen him & talked to him & gave me a trucker nickname (even though I don't drive them) as triple T, TTT.

David will always have a special place in the hearts of everyone at ContainerPort Group. He was a beloved friend and a Great Driver. 
David was getting ready to have his 32nd anniversary with CPG and will be dearly missed.  We hope his Children and Grandchildren find peace in the days to come.
