I think of my friend every day.  I miss his many jokes on email.  We met in June of 1964, our first day in ATF (A&TT) back then.  We became great friends as well as coworkers.  We rode together many, many times, and were active in the Bourbon Credit Union for years.  Dave’s family was the world to him, and his wife Shirley was a wonderful mate for him.  We may not have seen each other much after he retired, but we never stopped being close.  Prayers for Shirley, their kids and grandkids.  God bless you buddy.  John

He loved golf .and play Pinochle and was always fun to be with, One time we were playing golf We both hit the green in one shot. My ball was at least 40 feet from the hole, his 3 feet. He said you are away you go first. Well me not being that good of a golfer I was just trying to get the ball close. I hit hard toward the hole two bounces and it went in!!A birdy!!! He got his birdy than said dammit Ringenberg I got a 3 foot putt and I still dont win the hole, 

Shirley we were so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. We extend our sympathy and offer you our prayers!  Dave and I ushered together for over 50 years.  We were scheduled to usher in January.

Mr. Kamber was a great man! He was always looking for ways to help others and always there when you needed him the most. It's said that what you do for yourself in life dies with you but it's what you do for others lives on after you're gone.  Big Dave will live on forever!
Thoughts and prayers for the entre Kamber family.

Big Dave Kamber was bigger than life. He always had a smile on his face, a mischievous twinkle in his eye and a good joke or funny story to share.  And, in 62 years of marriage to Shirley Bird, he never had to make a big decision.  Rest in peace Big Dave. You were one of a kind and will be missed!

We will miss him. What a great friend he was. Working at the ball field, playing golf, playing pinochle always a kind word to say.

When I remember Dave from my time with ATF, I think immediately of his laugh and his big smile.   My prayers are with his family.


Mrs. Kamber and family, so sorry to hear about Mr. Kamber’s passing. He was a very sweet man. Will always remember his smile. So many great memories of him and the family growing up at St. Athanasius - church picnics, the ball field, just being part of a big family at Church. Our hearts are broken. We we will miss Big Dave more than we can express. The world has lost a wonderful, warm, kind man, but Heaven is all the richer today.  Keeping Shirley and the whole Kamber family in our thoughts and prayers.  We have been so blessed to be an honorary part of your family for awhile now, and we send you all the love in the world during this tough time. You are each a living testament to a life very well lived.  He was so proud of all of you and it was plain to see that he loved and cherished his time with family more than anything in the world. We will definitely be singing songs and toasting to Big Dave down here in FL. Please know that our entire Brigid‘s Cross /BTI family sends their condolences and love.

So sorry to hear about Big Dave.  I enjoyed sitting with him at the StX football games!   I will always think of him when I eat peanut brittle!!!❤️

I remember all of the fun at Aunt Gene and Uncle Dickey's camp when the Smith family mixed with the Kambers.  Then years later Dave shared his peanut brittle with us at the St. X home games.  Peace to all of the family. Elaine (Smith) Hulsman

I ushered with Dave for a number of years at St. Anthanasius. Dave always had a contagious smile everytime I seen him. He will be greatly missed not only as an usher buddy but as a good friend. Rest in peace my friend. God surely has received an awesome angel. 

Shirley & Family,   I am in shock to hear of Dave’s passing.   He was such a wonderful sweet man.  We became good friend’s while ushering together at church for many years.  I will miss his smile, his laugh & teasing him about betting on the horses with Joe.  God has truly gained a wonderful angel.

Dave was a good friend of mine for 35 or 40 years. We met and worked together at St. Athanasius Church. Whether we were ushering together, doing a repair or volunteering for a project, he was a willing worker. He and Romie Wafzig were quite a team! Dave was quick with a laugh, very easy to like, and a very capable and dedicated worker. I will miss him.

I remember the day we met, our first day at ATF., in 1964.  We immediately were sent from Louisville to Cincinnati for orientation and spent the rest of the week at Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg.  We have been coworkers and great friends for over 56 years.  You and your family mean a great deal to me.  Godspeed Dave.
