David Arnold Kirk

David is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Carolyn Kirk.

Here to carry on his memory are David’s son Phillip Bryan Kirk and daughter Andrea Lynn Kirk Cochran, including son in-law Cory Cochran and granddaughter Emerson Lynn Cochran.

David graduated from Atherton High School in 1972. He went on to earn a Chemistry and Zoology bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville.

David spent his time working for MSD, cheering on the Louisville Cardinals, making loved ones and strangers smile, and loving his children. David spent his final years at the Episcopal Church Home where he received exceptional care and love from the members of this facility.

David’s funeral arrangements are as follows. A visitation and service will be held on February 22nd, 2025 from 10:00 AM untill noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, with a funeral service in David’s honor beginning at noon. A burial service will follow, and David will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.

The need for research and treatments for aging adults with Schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses is unprecedented. The population is ever-growing and needs our help. Please give in honor of David and those who have fought and are currently fighting this disease. In his own words, “We are not perfect, but God has forgiven our imperfections. What is important is that we help each other.”
