He was a retired inspector after 36 years with International Harvester, UAW member and a 60 year mason with Progress Lodge 932. Mr. Schwartz was a Southern High School Booster Club President in the 70s , as well as an avid gardener. He was a WW II Army Air Corp veteran where he was a tail gunner on a B25 Billy Mitchell H and participated in the CBI Theater.
Mr. Schwartz is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; his daughter, Debbie Thornsberry; and two granddaughters, Leanna and Casey Thornsberry; and a sister, Marilyn Gellhaus.
His funeral service will be on Saturday, July 19th, at 10 am at Newburg Christian Church, 5225 Poplar Level Rd, with entombment following in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2pm until 8pm on Friday at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, and at the church after 9am on Saturday.
