Delbert L. "Smitty" Smith, 95, of Louisville, passed away on the morning of June 28, 2012 at the Hospice Pavilion. He was a native of Natchez, Mississippi a Baptist by faith and a retiree of Brown Forman Distillery. Smitty had been a U. S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and World War II.
In addition to his parents, William L. and Mary Kittling Smith he was preceded in death by is son, Lanny Smith.
Cherishing his memory is his wife of 71 years, Ruby Davis Smith; daughter, Linda (Joseph) Nason and son, Donald Smith; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and after 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
