Deloris Bernice Hunt

Born on Thursday, November 28, 1940 in Louisville Kentucky, Deloris was the oldest of 15 children born to Johnny Harris & Stella Lucille Biggers. She was a retired house keeper for Franciscan Healthcare., where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of Gospel of Jesus Christ Church in Louisville. Being the oldest of 15, Deloris cared for her siblings greatly, taking care of her whole family. She was a mom to everyone. Deloris had a heart of gold, she loved her gardens, especially her roses. In her younger years, she played the accordion & loved the piano. Deloris loved her “pretties”, animals, especially her dogs, & loved to listen to gospel music.

Besides her parents, Johnny & Stella Lucille Harris; her husband, Buddy Hunt; her son, David Leon Hunt; & several brothers & sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Randy (Tina) Hunt, Steven (Rhonda) Hunt & David Dougherty; 6 – grandchildren, Justin Hunt, Joseph Hunt, Jessica (Robert) Humphrey, Katie (Gus) Brown, Megan Dougherty & Christina Barringer; 11 – great – grandchildren; siblings, Lillie Jessie, Dottie Moore, Janie Aldridge, Mike Harris & Terry Harris; niece, Charlotte Bratcher; several nieces & nephews; plus, a host of other relatives & friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Deloris will be laid to rest in the Court of St. Matthew of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and then again on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Hour of 12:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
