He was a HVAC tech for Charlie Sondergeld Services and a member of the Fairdale Christian Church. Dennis was an avid U of L basketball and football fan.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Holly; two sons, D.J. French (Stephanie Denhard) and Cody French; two brothers, Mike French (Paulette) and Garry French; and a sister, Sheila Phelps (Barry).
His funeral will be on Monday at 1pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2pm until 8pm.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
